Now, today on my lovely day off, I went to a scrapyard. I went with intention of getting a replacement diff as mine clunks & whines more than my mum when I haven't cleaned my room. However, the only 190 there had a leaky diff, so I didn't bother - but I did end up getting a replacement autochoke unit as mines been a bit finicky for a while now. HOWEVER! There was a W124 300E there, so I got straight to work. Nice new 27.5mm front swaybar sitting in my garden, ready to go on this weekend. The bushes are all perfect, as are the clamp thingys that hold it to the body. I've read about how you have to cut the ends off and reverse the lugs so they protrude forward, so that's not a problem, but my question is this: If I don't upgrade my rear one at the same time (I intend to get an 18mm Evo one at some point), will my car understeer like a bitch, or will it be okay? Also a bit annoyed - I tried to get the front calipers off the 300E (nice brake upgrade!), but the bolts were completely siezed, I ended up just stripping the heads with the breaker bar.

The car will push a little more when going hard into a corner, and it will be noticable (at least, it is to me but I'm not your average driver and I notice small changes in how a car behaves but that's beside the point) however, it won't "understeer like a bitch". |
