Can anyone help me out here?

I need to get the starter motor and solenoid off my cossie but I can only get the bottom bolt off from under the car, cant get to the top bolt.

Haynes manual obviously says nothing concerning a 2.3-16v but it says on the diesel 190E the engines need to be hoisted out slightly to remove the sarter motor :o Im hoping this isnt the same for the cossie.

Please help :help:

Need to get it out cos the solenoid isnt functioning  :(

It might be an idea to do what I did when I was changing my engine mounts. Get a conventional jack, stick a plank across the top and use it under the sump to slightly raise the engine. It might just give you enough clearance. Bare in mind I haven't actually seen what you're getting at!
