Can anyone help me out here? I need to get the starter motor and solenoid off my cossie but I can only get the bottom bolt off from under the car, cant get to the top bolt. Haynes manual obviously says nothing concerning a 2.3-16v but it says on the diesel 190E the engines need to be hoisted out slightly to remove the sarter motor Im hoping this isnt the same for the cossie. Please help Need to get it out cos the solenoid isnt functioning

It might be an idea to do what I did when I was changing my engine mounts. Get a conventional jack, stick a plank across the top and use it under the sump to slightly raise the engine. It might just give you enough clearance. Bare in mind I haven't actually seen what you're getting at! |

Yeah ive noticed its been really dead lately
Where has everyone gone? I may loosen the mounts tomorrow and jack the lump up slightly see if I can gain more access.
