In what engine size?

The sensor in the back of the 16v airbox is for the air temp.

In my 2.5.
There are 2 sensors? One in the centre, and one on the right hand side? Big copper coloured one?

Thanks guys. My idle is a bit rough, so yesterday I started pulling wires to see the effects. The car was warm when doing it, so I don't know if this has any relevance, but last night I had it idling and pulled out the one on the right, and nothing changed?
Is it only in effect when it's cold, or is it broken?

Hi mate

lol, i know what you mean, the KE although quite mechanical is a bitch coz it gets so much info from differerent sensors at different temperatures.. there is a bit of info about the KE in the technical area...have a look

I guess I missed this thread....

When you unplug one of the temperature sensors AND THE ENGINE IS RUNNING, it should not change anything. This is because the engine management is designed to ignore instant changes like that because it knows they aren't possible and assumes they're down to a dodgy connection or something.

However, if you turn off the engine, unplug a sensor and then restart it, the engine will not know this and so it should make an effect.
