how often should the timing belt be changed millige wise on the 190 1.8? as i cant be shure i wondered when it may hve been changed or not its the plastic belt jut wondered cost of fitting average (does it involve alot of work) and how often should they be changed many thanks |

190's dont have timing belts. They have internal timing chains. The rubber belt you mention is the drive belt, which powers the water pump, power steering, alternator etc. This should be replaced when it appears worn, cracks, shiney surface etc. You can change it yourself withing 10 mins easily

Just don't snap the tensioner as I've done 4 times to date. Once you know how you can change it in about 1.5 hours, but the first time takes aaaggeeeessss. |
