Have you got a second hand one then? Nick has the current MB No in his paperwork somewhere but I cant find it.

Part numbers have changed but Im pretty certain that when we were going to buy a new one for Nicks car MB said it was specific only to the 2.5! Its the only one Ive seen with two fuses!

I appreciate that... I guess it's not to be! I'll post it up in classifieds as it will fit into pretty much all other 190s!! (Typical!)

That picture is from your 'clean up' isn't it?

I have to go through that process... I am really hopeful that it will solve my performance issue (turbo lag feeling)... any tips for the novice?? I've got all the cleaning products etc. Need to take it all apart and check it all for dry joints... My plan is to do the same thing with the OVP Relay... Any advise would be extremely well received...

Ironic that this post has appeared, as I fear I might have just blown or damaged my relay. I had to jump start the car, and shorted the terminals, the car is running fine, although could be idling very slightly faster than normal. Can't believe i did this, but in a bloody rush again as usual lol

but also the ABS light has come on and stayed on, didn't notice if the light came on immediately, was a few miles down the road when i noticed it.

The reason the battery went flat was I left the ignition for a couple of hours after tinkering with the leccy windows. :help:

The 2.3-16 OVP has 2 fuses as well, and has more pins underneath than the 2litre one. does any one know how to get it apart, when i tried it seemed to be stuck at the top and I didn't want to force it.

Try removing the fuses first if you haven't already and then just work it...

I have used the OVP from my 2.5-16 in a 300E with ASD (part numbers were the same too), so the relay is not specific to the 2.5-16. The relay does power the ASD system though so if your 2.5-16 has ASD you'd probably need an OVP from another car with ASD...

Hello.

Only vehicles with ASD have an OVP with 2 fuses.
ASD in the 2.3-16V, it was only from mid 1987-1988.
In your 2.3-16V is the right OVP.

Regards
