Hello guys I want to try and tune my 2.3-16 up a bit and was wondering if anyone here on the forum has got a parts for sale that I could use to tune her up a bit I have read a few posts here about EFI and such so was really looking at any other mods that could keep the original Fuel system or maybe go the other way with a set of twin 40's?? Also has anyone had any gains out of skimming and porting/ polishing the head. Any helpful info or suggestions welcome and also any sensible parts for mods will be considered with cash waiting??? Thanks in advance

I flowed the head and uprated the internals for a 2.5 and it was a nice difference. It even increases your economy if your sensible
Smiffy had lots of bits but they might be all sold now so pm him just in case EFI at the end of the day will be the main gain as our injection system is crap. Another good thing to do would be an external water pump and electric fan as it reduces friction on the engine and makes it cool beter too. Some people state you can get about 8% out of those 2 modds alone |

If you have the head ported, don't forget the manifold. The intake manifold is a big choke on the engine. You could conceivably have the head and intake manifold extrude honed as a single unit in order to improve the whole system, but I don't know if anybody has tried it on a 16V yet. |

I dont think engine tuning and original fuel system work together in the same sentence, unless you fit 'replace' in there somewhere
I've had my head flowed, but its still on the floor in my "parts room" so I cant tell you just yet the true benefits. You could always get a more free flowing exhaust to start. (sorry I cant remember if you have one already mate) As for further stuff, there are quite a few decent threads now, all saying pretty much the same thing, I wont repeat the recipes for go faster 190s The fan thing would be a great start though

Cheers so far guys. Just out of interest I am sure you all know that Bekker used to and still advertise a 2.6 stroker kit for the 2.3-16 any ideas if they still sell it and if anyone has built an engine using this kit?
