I'm only really here for the Kitchens

as far as I know all engines had the auto option, even the 16v (cosworth).

In the uk there are:-
1.8 4cyl,
2.0 4cyl,
2.6 6cyl,
2.3 4cyl 16v (cosworth)
2.5 4cyl 16v (cosworth)

Diesels came in 2.0, 2.5 and 2.5 turbo (not sure if it was available in the uk ?)

In europe there is a normal 4cyl 2.3. Not sure about america, I think they had a 2.3 as well.
There are of course amg specials, including 3.0 and 3.2 I think ????

I am sure people wil add/rip apart this list :) Its nice useful thread to have though.

I have only really driven a 2.6petrol and the same car with a 3.0 stuffed into it. I can say the 6cyl 190s are so smooth a torquey.

I have heard the 2.0d is not for those who want preformance but they share more parts with their petrol brothers than the 2.5 thus making the parts easier to find.

Someone else should add info about the carb and injection info on the 1.8 and 2.0's. I dont really know.

Right! The 2ltr petrol auto is probably the one i'll go for to start off as i'm not all that flush at the moment! Have a calibra to finish off first so end of summer a shiny new 190 is on the cards :-) :driver: Is anyone on this forum from n.ireland?
