Hi Everyone,
Picked up me new 2.6 Auto today.. Great car just a couple of fault's with it. Sunroof does'nt work, got a high pitched diff whine....

Need some feed back please.......

The motor make's the sound's, but no motion on the sunroof...
What could it be????
Is this common on the 190e's???
Does a w124 sunroof motor fit???
Is this a d.i.y job or garage???

Diff whine's at a very high pitch..
IT's annoying as f~~k, but i've ben told it's nothing to worry about, is this true??

When travelling at 80mph, and you take your foot off the throtle, it kick's in
then.

Will post some picture's tommorrow when it stop's rainning..

the sunroof on 190's is a little bit of an issue............unlike most they havent got the motor in the roof........its a cable system with the motor in the boot on the passenger side behind the plastic cowling.............it could be,the cable has snapped,or like what happened to mine......a mounting bolt came out of the end of the cable on the sunroof, and when it was closed the cable travelled to far and came out of the motor........trouble is you have to take the motor apart to fix it.yes if you mechanical minded, dont have to be a genius then yes its a diy job,not to hard, just awkward ;)
As far as the diff whining, then no its nnot a problem, just annoying  .........i drove for nearly 2 years with a whining diff
