Thank you, its a 2.0 auto, it needs a couple of patches on the inner wings, paint is a bit faded (hopefully will polish up ok), will need a complete interior as it has been fitted with black leather seats and dash and the rest is all beige, a few eletrical problems (drivers window and the heater fan not working). Im not worried about all that, there is something wrong with the ignition system somewhere which has me confused? it will start and drive fine but only if you connect a wire which has been added between the coil + and the battery + any ideas would be very helpfull cheers oh and i was amazed at how this car handles, its more fun than a go-cart

Hello and welcome
I see that you bought the car listed on ebay, what a bargin you got it for. The problems you face are little and would take no time to sort out, worn heater motors are common. Welding is common on these cars as the inner wings and jacking points suffer the most. Just took alook at the pictures and its a very nice 190 mix between cosworth kit and AMG kit and the wheels are nice. |

heater fan is a common problem on these.probably the motor as for the ignition problem...........the coil on petrol cars, while running, only runs on 8-9volts through a ballast resistor(this can look like just a thick piece of wire )...........but when turning the key and starting the car it bypasses the ballast resistor and kicks the coil in the ass with 12v,when they key drops back after starting it then goes through the ballast resistor...............if you have to put a wire between the coil and the battery chances are the ballast resistor has gone
...................ps this is also the way some morons will nick your car

Welcome matey, well done for picking up one of these for such a low sum! And Signal Red too! Don't worry, you'll get the shine back soon, but tbh the bonnet looks pretty damn oxidized - roof & bootlid are likely the same. Unless you work out a lot or are perhaps a professional rower, i would get the car paint professionally restored (wet-mopped/buffed). Google search a company called Clean Image (i think they're in essex) and you'll see what's possible in the galleries... Good luck matey, loving them white Anteras - so 80s! |

Thanks for the replys, been looking at it today, got the thing sorted, was a little switch under the passenger side dash, switched it and all is good now drivers door was a fuse gone and the heater i havent got round to doing yet. started giving it a t-cut and polish today and it is coming up ok. Hopefully i will be picking up another tomorrow so i can have the interior its a 190d and i have no idea what its like but should be ok i like the wheels but it did come with a nice set of 17's aswell anyone know if they will fit with the amount the car has been lowered? Cheers all |
