Yes, going to be interesting, I know manual boxes and mercedes are generally a poor marrige so we shall see, I must admit tho I did find myself wanting more control of the revs when I had the auto

What's the story with these manual boxes, is it just a poor quality box they fitted to the standard cars?

right here she is, picked her up yesterday, a few suprises, she had a front end prang at some point, new bonnet o/s wing and door, bonnet, but engine wise sweet as a nut at 109k, drove 200 miles home no prob ( btw, normal running temp is a bit over 80 deg, is this right? )

12 months MOT, 6 months tax, partial service hist

all for a grand total of £165!!!!

with a free haynes :)

hello and welcome, nice bargain there.

the mot and tax would easily cover that cost you paid so you got the car for effectively nothing which is my favorite price.

To be honest I think it's going to require too much effort to get the body work to the point where it's nice enough to show. Unless I can sort out the small issue where the damaged wing seems to have resessed by half an inch. Either way it's going to need a respray, shame because the engine is beautiful and interior immac.

I havn't decided yet, might use her to ferry me to and from work and look for something a little more desierable as a replacement later in the year, something with more options and perfect bodywork. My moral is you can fix engines, but bodywork is another kettle of fish.

But yes, certainly a bargain, the seller had an old sl in the garage, a w124 diesel, beetle and newer C class, the girlfriend was demanding more drive space so he just wanted to cover the mot and tax so he could get rid and avoid earache.
