Just bought my 190e auto last month.
Well pleased with it.
Had a couple of teething problems, mainly with dash board lighting.
New reostat has sorted hopefully.
Like the site.

Cheers from sunny Yeadon.

Have you any plans for the 190?
What spec, year, engine?
Post a few pictures.
Any information needed just read up on the threads and any questions just ask.

Cheers Lewis,
Its a 190e 2.0 Auto in silver, running on MB alloys (8 hole). Its a 1993 on a K with 135000 miles on. Interior is black and in really good condition.
To be honest, I am looking to just run it as a family smoker but I have been really impressed with the build quality.
Bodywork is not perfect but not bad. The few blemishes appear to be cosmetic.
The whole thing, outside and under the bonnet has cleaned up really well to reveal an honest 14 year old car which wears its years lightly.
I will post pictures when I figure out how to.
I am blaming Quentin Wilsons column in Classic cars a few months ago. He said it was a vehicle that would run forever and could only appreciate over time. I am looking forwards to finding out.
The problem I am suffering at the moment is anti-freeze on the carpet in the near side rear footwell. I have detailed this on the technical pages so hopefully someone should be able to shed some light on this.
Anyways, Cheers for the hello,
See you,
Yeadonchap.

Sounds nice, a classic but modern colour combo.
Quentin was right - i think he has a certain affection for these cars as i remember
reading an article when my dad bought his (now mine) that was also by him.
'The 190 is built like nothing on earth' were his exact words...

Welcome ;)

All right Yeadonchap. Funnily enough I spend a bit of time today popping out the instrument console to reattach the ABS bulb :D Hands are a bit bruised now though!

Yeah,
The haynes book is a bit of a joke re: the instrument console. It says go in from under the lower dash covers (below steering column) & unhook the r/h ventilation pipe. Oh, and remove steering wheel. No joke if like me, your car has the airbag.
Have you looked under that bottom cover? Its like a rats nest in there.
Anyways, if you hook out the binnacle with some modified radio pullers it comes out not so bad.
But then again I suppose you are up on this already.
Cheers for the Hello.
Anybody got any answers on the wet rear floor? its all gone a bit quiet.

All the best from Sunny Yeadon
