190 Mechanic Hard To Find In The Uk

Hi 190' lovers,

My name is Marco and I am portuguse. I'm in the UK for about 1 month. Like you I have the passion for the 190's. I decided to bring one from Portugal.

Problem is that when I arived the car had a problem. It didn 't start. Well, it started then died.

Five mechanics saw the car - Yes, I will repeat. Five! No one gave me a solution until today!

Story: first one said it was the fuel distributor; second one said it must be the fuel pump and ran away from the car; the third one didn't say nothing at all; fourth said it was the ignition or something; the fifth said it was the fuel distributer. Let's stop here. I went to a breakyard and bought one. same symptoms. Start and dies. Ok. after 2 weeks and lot's of search on the internet and discussions with the mechanic he found a missing hose with a U from near the injection body (I think). He subsitute it with a convencional one. Now the car starts after it get's warm. It take like 10 to 15 minutes, a lot of start and die and battery. After that runs perfectly.

It seems like a hard cold start problem wich I assume it's very common in these cars and it's related with a valve or sensor. I don't know I just want the car fixed! This mechanic checks all mechanical components like fuel pump, injection distributor, etc and said "I'll give UP, I can't do anymore than this, this is beyond my knowledge". At least was honest.

Now! Does anyone knows a mechanic who really knows about 190's or about their job.

My contact number is 07964673070 (marcorodrigues@hotmail.com), I live in Luton and study in London. I'll drive the car anywhere in the country to talk with someone who knows about mechanics and specially about these cars.

Thank you for your help.

Marco

Hi all and thanks for your help. 6 mecanincs have seen the car and checked everything... No one can identify the problem. I suspecting that a hose that connects the iddle valve to the donwside of the injection is the problem, because the hose is missing. Anyone have had similar problems with that?
