Well you say cheap but its not rearly.
Story is i only got it for the body kit and leather, not long after i got my 1.8 190 ,and i new nothing about mercedes.
When i found out it was a cosworth i thought i would try and fix it as it was a non runner.
could not find what was wrong so i striped the engine and found this.(sorry if pic is not very big)

idle sprocket with no teeth.
As time goes on i got a new one fitted it and put engine back together would not start.
So to cut a long story short i changed the
starter motor
cold start valve
ignition coil
leads
plugs
head skimmed
valves seated
timing chain
small chain rail
small guide sprocket
head gasket
steam seals
I think there is more but can not remember at mo
and it still would not start timing is set perfect and everything else set right.
I had an mercedes expert have a look and he would put money on it being the air flow sensor and fuel distuibutor.
so thats where i am at with the cosworth.
On the plus side my 1.8 is working fine all but a small oil leak.

(I have put some more pictures on for you to look at if you wish)
