Hi, my name is mark i'm interested in ....... :D (Sounds like speed dating)

I currently have a 2L 190 (with the cosworth kit) which I need some spares for and i'm looking for a 190 cosworth.

For the 190 in bit's I need a drivers side headlight and inner wing.

For the 190 cosworth does anyone know anything about F459UCR?

Cheers,

Mark.

Hello and welcome B)

What kind of info do you need about the car you mention? If you have the VIN you can use the decoder on this site HERE to show you all the info about the car from when it left the factory.

I have seen the car advertised and was wondering if anyone on the group knew of it. As far as I know it is a 2.5 16v auto it apears to be in good condition, but does have 166k on it.

Cheers,

Mark.

Welcome.
The Cossie sounds interesting as it has one of those novelty number plates that
phonetically spells a rude word when you miss the numbers out B)

I'm so childish

Hi, the ad say's

The merc is a 1989 F reg 2.5 16 v 205 bhp auto with sport mode.

It Has 166600 on the clock and runs like a dream really smooth and no smoke.
It has electric everything Seats sun roof passenger mirror windows. It all works bar the rear drivers side window. It comes with cruise control which gave me a 35 mpg return on a long trip at 80-90. It has half leather bucket seats front and rear and the fronts are heated. Over all the car is in very good condition inside and out.
The Bad areas are:-
Outside..... The rear spoiler lacquer lifted and has been touched up as has the rear roof where the rear screen shattered, it was taped up for a night and day while a new one was sent to me again touched over to stop any more damage and just needs cutting to finish it off. There are to small dings on passenger rear quarter one was the there when I got the car the other done in asda not so long ago.
And finally the is some paint lifted of the boot lid where someone de badged it wrong.
Inside.....Its missing the rear ashtray and the outside temp display has bleed.

The ASD light comes on and goes off but it doesn't affect the drive its just alters the diff in a low speed wheel spins under 20 mph and means it takes a few seconds to start every now and then.
(There are 2 un-related problems here, the ASD not working properly and probably the cold start relay - Mark)

It has 10 months MOT and 4 months TAX

Ah this is the ebay one, in the pictures it looks quite nice, wheels look good to, think there from a CLK.

It does need alittle work but the engine bay looks great and very well spec'd.
Cheap aswell, but i'd have to take that auto box it doesnt belong there...

That's the one, I had a chat with the chap, but the ASD does not work the light's on all the time, and it needs a new cold start valve as well as it won't start without a lot of churning over.

Ah little jobs, go for it.
Best colour aswell, does need a good "detail" but its worth the price its at, i'd snap it up.
Got to be quick, only got 1 hour left, have you viewed it yet?

Depends, not viewing it i cant say, prices are up and down at the minute, If it is a solid car meaning no holes in the floor or no rust around the arches or around the jacking points i'd give an easy £2,000 for it, you have to check whether it is a solid car and then go from there, but at £1,600 its a steal...

Welcome to the site.

ASD light could mean a number of things. Possibly relay related.

Hard starts - Hmmm, its not cold enough for the cold start valve to have a big say in this. Id veer towards fuel accumulator.

Like Lewis said, have you seen it?

Its not sport mode by the way - Its standard!

Lewis did you convert yours to a manual?

And the outcome is???!!

Tell us more about it - was it easy/hard? Worth it? Or a hassle?

Did you have to change any relays etc?

A mate changed the box while i also helped, it took a few hours well a day to do, got to give the gearbox and good clean and put fresh fluid in...

The result differs alot IMO, first off all there is now full control over the rev range, before the car felt "gutless" after putting the manal box in the car feels alot quicker. Maybe a second or just under to 60 than a auto box would do it in.

Only hassle was putting in all the lines and fitting the pedals etc..
Its well worth it.

Drives fine all the way up to redline, some people have problems and cant get past 4,000rpm, but no problems so far...

Make sure you give it a good look over before handing any money over, make sure you check around the jacking points, rear screen, boot flor and side wells, wings and inner wings and so on.

Make sure all the mechanicals are sound and so on...
Let us know how you get on...

Yep I will do. i will hopefully go and collect it over the weekend. I know the rust points from the 2L I have. It seems a genuine car and the seller seemed genuine and was more than happy to answer emails and send across more pic's when I aksed for them. The 10 months MOT makes me think it is probably OK.

Cheers,

Mark.

Well I went and bought the car yesterday. The 150 mile home trip was excellent :D The performance was spectacular to say the least and gave a number of cars a fright on the M25 bow.gif bow.gif

There are a few faults, but i'll post them into the relevant forum one at a time, but over all the car has been wel looked after with a FSH mainly from Mercedes.

Chers,

Mark.
