Ive currently got an old pre-cat one tailpipe back box. Ive sourced a for cat twin tailpipe back box and apperantly the latter is a bigger gurf so not being a good fit to the rest of the exhaust.

I want them to be a good fit so is there some part or technique to put a bigger-pipe on a smaller pipe. I really dont wana weld or even take the entire exhaust as its just not worth the effort.

Im sure any half decent exhaust fitters would be able to fabricate a downsizing collar to mate the back box to the existing exhaust. There may even be kits available for self fit.

Kenny I had the same problem, when I put the two pipe back box on,
You will find that a bit of the pipe the new back box goes into originally, will fit over the pipe you have on the car,
So what you need is the back box and a few inches off the centre box end pipe,
I welded mine on to the old exhaust, but if you use the extra piece of exhaust pipe as a sleeve it should just clamp up,dead easy hard to explain tho :D
