remeber seeing them with a few countach of a nite time driving up and down the corniche in abu dhabi when i lived there every nite on the nightly cruise anything that was gullwing used to go up and down for hours on end well and about everythingelse exotic you could see also brill times ;) what a place to live we had an apartment right on the sea front ..

I was in Kuwait in 1980 - things were a bit tense with Iran (for obvious reasons) and there was much fundamentalism about. There was a road intersection, a leg of which approached the US consulate/embassy/whatever.

One night a pair of rather pissed Saudis in a Camaro decided they'd have a go at bombing it, but they were careful. They used an RPG instead of a waistcoat. In getting away, they lost the car, rolled it, etc., etc. Fire, dead, all that.

The authorities left the wreck where it was. For a week. It was July.

I got off the plane to be greeted by my brother (and everyone else) wearing those little face masks the Japanese wear when in cities. I didn't get until we approached the scene.

Yes, a bit niffy, to say the least. Hardly served to clear yr sinuses...

The short term solution, weirdly, was that a small regiment of very small Koreans were put to work to divert the road around the wreck. It was still there when I left, as I recall...
