Hey everyone!

I was wondering if anyone had any info on the first wheel in this catalog (not the pentas):

Posted Image

It looks like a multi-piece wheel...

I've found a set locally that I'm going to pick up tomorrow.

Very rare wheels, I think they're OZ racing 3 Piece Split rims...

For the 190E:

16 x 7.5
ET31
Part no's: B66020053/A2014000402

They may have come in 15" as well but I'm not sure...

Word of warning, if they're not in good condition they will cost a fortune to have refurbished correctly. Think £200 + each

Having said that, good sets can go for around £1000 so if they're cheap may be worth buying regardless.

Thanks for the fast reply + info Tim!

I'm getting them for really really cheap... $200 CDN. The condition in the photos I've seen look OK, not great. Could use some tidying up.

I'll post some pics when I get them :)

I'll verify the part numbers tomorrow when I pick them up. Hopefully they're the real deal!

Update:

Picked them up and verified all part numbers and stamping. Looks like I got a winner here :driver: :driver:

Made by OZ Racing 3PC.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

Apparently they've been sitting for years. The condition isn't very good, but I figure it was cheap enough to buy anyway.

Refinishing where I am should cost me about $600 CDN for all 4 wheels.. Not too shabby for incredibly rare wheels

They don't look too bad...

If you're going to DIY refurbish them you'll need the correct 10 point OZ tool to undo all the bolts which can then either be re-finished or renewed.

Having said that I'd be tempted not to split them as you can run into problems where you can't get them to seal properly. If they're not too heavily curbed then strip the lacquer off with nitromors and then polish.

I love split rims so much

Fairly sure they'll be 7.5" wide Neil.

I guess that's the dilemma with Splits - to open 'em up or not?

If the refurb is going to be Pro, I don't see why not. They may have been split apart previously, and they may even currently leak air.
A decent wheel outfit should have no problems sealing them up after polishing/rebuilding.

I think it would take me an eternity to decide what to do with a set like that. Part of me really dislikes polished lips, and really loves unusual paint colours & finishes.
I'm thinking Gloss Battleship Grey rims, Matte Battleship Grey centres. Gold bolts. On a white 16v-kitted W201... B)

Yup 7.5 wide.

I plan on taking it to a professional since they're the real deal. I don't want to attempt a DIY on these babies.

I found lots of spiders and their eggs living inside the rim lol. it was pretty nasty and my GF wasn't too happy when I used her civic as a transport vehicle :)

I've got 16" AMG Monoblocks (1pc) that I'm refinishing right now, so I won't refinish the 3pc until next year (funds are tight).

I'll post some pics when I have the 1pc on :)

All I need are pentas to complete my collection!

Yeah not a lot of people around here know what they are.

I'm going to have to go international for those wheels.

I love the old classic styles. I had 17" AMG monoblocks on the 190 for a month and I had to sell them. I thought they were too modern for the car!

I'm going to pick up 8 holes for the winter. I'm also looking for the 16" 15-hole that were on the 500SL and the EvoI which is pretty rare too. Ahhhhh wheel fetish lmao
