Hey guys. I've decided to do a few things to my car as I'm feeling the need for a bit of a change. I'm toying with a couple of ideas regarding my front grill and I think I've decided what I'm going to do but I just want to see some examples of what some of you guys have either done or seen elsewhere... Please post some pics and try not to duplicate. I'd like pics on a dark 190 if possible - 199 or 040.

Did you have any hassle painting the chrome surround? Do you have to strip the chrome first? It's been a while since I'vce been on the W201 forums... |

And my car (well the side and back part) will be 040 16v kit I really like Energies grille, but I would have kept a nice shiny star. Matts one is nice too, very OEM. Heres my avantgarde style grille, not the greatest quality (it now sports layers of clean matt black electrical tape where the glossy black paint was) ![]() Half thinking of going back to the original.. But I have a nice idea for it, and its a secret

I've got a big star on the grill of my cossie... from the history that I've got it was put on when the car was new. I'm thinking about selling the car soon and I've always wanted to put one of the Aventgarde grills on it but never got round to it. Should I replace the grill with a standard one, keep the one I've got or replace it with the avantgarde!?!? What do you connesseurs think??? |

This could be a good thread to gather all of the grille options, both factory and aftermarket. Pics too etc, different colour combos.. I'll throw up some pics of my avantgarde insert and also the Schatz frame later. |

a few options in here:- http://z14.invisionfree.com/mercedes_190_c...?showtopic=4404 I am pretty sure the 190 never came with the large emblem grille from the factory (sec style). Some people love them, some hate them. It tends to be non merc owners or new merc owners who like them. Then as they grow into merc ownership they go off them and go back to stock. Often the same with clear indicators too. I have an unusual relationship with my grille. Its a bit of a work in progress I love the Aventgarde on certain colours, works really well on silver I think. |

A new standard insert is about £8 from ecp. Although the chrome trim strips are dealer only and come to about £12 iirc. |
