Cat Rattle

:) hi does anybody know the years of the cars that have a cat converter? was 92 the first year. on my 1.8 i have a slight rattle on the exhaust at idle- the reason i ask is that my dad had a 102 engined 230te with similar rattle and it ended up being the cat.his was a 92 and he replaced the section of the exhaust without a cat as he wasnt required to put another on for mot as it was a very early cat car. hoping its just the exhaust itself or the mountings

Check the heatshields above the exhaust.

a couple of quick spot welds and it will be silenced, worked for me.
