Can anyone tell me the procedure (best way) to remove the manifold on my 2.5?

What are the best tools to use and how do you access the bolts?

It looks like its gonna be a nightmare!

It is a nightmere...

So tight, tops are easy its bottom row that i found the problem, i used a rachet with the flexible piece to get in the tight spaces, if you want to make things alot easier remove the firewall...

you mean like one of those really flexible rachet adapters? Did you get them all from under the bonnet?

Yes i did it was a mission, getting at them from the underside is another options, but the downpipes get in the way, you could try from there...

Soak them in WD40 top ones dont take long, bottom ones were a different story, around 20-30min's, its tight, cut my hands in the process, its alot easier to remove the heater return pipe and unbolting the firewall so you can push it back alittle or remove it...

One of the top ones has a bracket attached and it looks too tight to get a socket on :-(

You were removing the Head if I remember.
Remove the Exhaust Manifold when you have the head removed from the engine.
Undo the four bolts in the downpipes and lift the head off with the manifold attached. You'll need someone to help.
With the head on the bench get yourself a good 12mm spanner and you'll get all the nuts.

:) :)

don't know about the 2.5-16, but on my 2.3-16 engine, in order to remove the exhaust manifold, the alternator and therefore fan belt must also be removed or else the front part of it will not come out.
