Steering box is a b*****d, I had to do mine up on a lift, there are two bolts on it, one at the bottom and one at the top used to adjust and tighten the steering box, as for the downpipes you need a long extension bar with the flex joints on, its best again to do this on a lift.

i thought the steering box is a pain due to the downpipes so if they are removed then the box is easy?

As Lewis says, long extension for the down pipe and the car on ramps or high axle stands. Its more of a fiddly job than diffficult. When you are re-attaching the downpipe to the rest of the exhaust section the bolts have a habit of dropping out of the socket set as access is limited. I held the bolts in the socket with a bit of bluetac.............saves a lot of swearing!
