Hi. Recently my 190 developed a strange squeaking noise when steering the car. Its gotten quite loud recently and I'm not sure if I even should drive the car until thi thing is solved. My first tought was power steering and in more particular power steering oil. But after checking it it seems that there was more than enough of power steering oil already present. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks!

Is it coming from the steering-wheel area inside the cabin, or is it a louder noise coming from down near the wheels/suspension?

Well, with Trendkill i was going to say that if it was loud & external, his Front Ball-Joints could be on their way out, and it's
dangerous to drive the car in case they fail, and that he should get them checked out ASAP.
Nezamr, has your steering wheel been removed & refitted, or replaced?

Sounds like a balljoint.

Get it looked at NOW!

Marcus had one snap and last week Leightons one snapped.

sounds like lower ball joints too me, check them out, could be seized, power steering hides this problem but is alerted by squeaking and whine.

if they are then also check you tie rod ends see if they are not siezed as this will be need to adjust the tracking once the new ball joints are fitted, worth doing it both together along together with Anti rool bar rubbers if your budget allows.

if it is a ball joint failure make sure to replace both sides and attend to it sooner rather than later, could be fatal.
