well, here's the report of our slightly ill-fated 2nd trip to germany,ill-fated in as much as that they cancelled it the same day we travelled on the 700 mile journey to go to it ! but it was not a waste of time as you will see,but in general it was a track day for the pistonclub of germany,we thought the dtm turnout was rather lame,!1 car,but it was a genuine ex factory dtm evo2 ! not so much text as my last trip, but more piccies instead...

started out by meeting up with kenny(tronix)justover the belgium border, was great to see a familiar face over the other side ,we had a great laugh and chat, his car got plenty of attention ,especially when he filled up with veg oil from the curry house,we cruised together for a while then headed off in our own directions.

heres the evo2 dtm car we drooled over,
and a quick vid of it growling down the straight, type on youtube ''mercedes 190 evo2 dtm oschersleben'' or go to zoomer46 on youtube

also note the bonnet, boot and rear spoiler were made from kevlar!

heres some shots of the other cars there

heres the z3m coupe gt,this car was so fast i can't tell you ,seriously, there was nothing there that day that could stay anywhere near it,even the wtc 320 bmw was 10secs or more slower per lap,and the best gt3 911's had no chance even,it was that quick..

more of the konigsegg ccgt it shared the garage with, the ccgt was having problems and did most of its running being pushed,by mechanics ,1 lap on track was all we saw.

i loved this car we passed it miles from the event and we ended up seeing it there!i loved the arches on it ,and could see them on my car as a cheaper alternative to the klasse1 kit i like ,the whole car had a balanced aggressive look from front to back, and a sequential drenth gearbox, weighed only 860kg!

Posted Image
this car had a nice look to it,was rather shabby in finish when you got close, but a classy gt look to it on the track, but it was quite slow tbh,

Posted Image
this car had a bmw v8 had home brewed blistered e30 m3 arches,

Posted Image
but was no where near as fast as this well sorted gt3 chasing 3 series with a mild tuned chevy v8,less than 400bhp,but vvv fast.

Posted Image
word of the day ''diffuser'',this scirocco had a huge one ,and so did many of the cars, from all era's, this is a v big fad in germany now,and apperently they work! food for thought....

Posted Image
eye candy in the pits tuned ford gt

this car was also bloody awesome,it was a 650bhp v6 bi-turbo s4,(not rs4) and was well sorted on the track, this car sums up what i want to do with my car, homemade spoilers and diffuser, partial stripped interior, big brakes and was faster down the straight than any other road car on the track, kept with all the porker gt3's with ease!
Posted Image
and a vid of some of the cars it was sparring with inc the geat sounding r8 audi

next day we headed off to the vw autostadt, which we hoping was a vw museum ,but was more of a family vw disneyland with showcases for their products, there was a museum there and here is some pics,

Great pictures chap ;)

One thing ive always wondered about the DTM Evos is why do they go to the effort of modifying the front door cards so they can fit around the roll cage? Why not just use a sheet of carbon or something.
