My O2 / Lambda semsor is apparently shot, and doing my fuel economy no favours so I headed up to ECP and dropped £67+VAT on a brand
new Bosch one.
It's still sealed in the box, and the old sensor didn't fancy coming off tonight (I need to buy some proper spanners) but I want
to double-check it's the right one, as the ECP website just lists one by Walker that isn't the same number.

The one I've bought is:

Bosch 0 258 003 134

Is there a pinned article or a member that has the answer?
TIA chaps :)

As it turns out, I've got the right item - but this site has a few engine types listed under the W201 that I've never heard of.
See what you make of them:

Just Lambdas

Notice how from 1984-86 there was a 2.2-litre engine, and in the final year a 1.8 Carb... ?!

I was told by my mechanic, he discovered it whilst diagnosing & repairing my KE-Jet system. The car had been quite thirsty lately, but other than that I'm not sure what else you'd look for. Multimeter readings, p'raps...

No, the car exhibits no flat spots or stalling-type behaviour.

On the subject of removing the Lambda Sensor, has anyone got any hot tips?

The old one is soooo siezed on, and my brand new 22mm spanner is eating into the hex-nut.
I've soaked it in Plus-Gas, and will try again tomorrow night.
Any point running the engine for a bit?
I do not want to burn myself to bits on the exhaust...

cut the wire and get a socket on it and use brut force and ignorace, the therads are usally covered in grese so it should come out!

Not possible whilst it's on the car - even using a spanner on the lower part is tight, no way could you get a deep socket & ratchet handle on it.
It's a real bugger, but I guess I'll attempt it again tomorrow night.
I have an enormous pair of "Vise-Grips" but am reluctant to destroy the thing to remove it.
The car needs to be drivable for a bit.

Thank god I didn't destroy my existing Lambda Sensor.
It works perfectly
Just passed MOT, and taken the new Bosch one back to ECP for a full refund.
