Dear Sirs,

I have a 2.0 and have been wanting to do a front chin spoiler like this:

Have done a bit of searching and as you guys said, it's the "Renault Laguna Splitter".

But which model year of the Laguna?

How about installation? Direct bolt on?

I'd appreciate your knowledge and input. Thank you.

Laguna Splitter

I just bolted mine on to the bottom of the bumper and then trimmed to shape. Was easier to take the bumper off first. You can get them with 3 holes on either side as can be seen on mine:

Dont take the bumper off more time consuming, I was the chap hat first fitted this extra lip style spoiler back when I had Cavalier GSI's
1997 then on my first 190E in 1999, jack your car up from the front, drill a hole central in the splitter and line it up to the middle of
your bumper.
Drill through that hole and straight into the bumper, then just drill through the splitter all the way round shaping it to the line of the
bumper, the excess splitter on each side of the bumper just cut down using an angle grinder and shaping the edges, Ive used small nut & bolts with washers, keeps the splitter on real tight.
There is is diffrent types of splitters (spoilers) that can be fitted as along as it has a top flat bit,
You should have it fitted within 45-1hr, it a p**s easy job....

Guys, could we please stop calling it a Splitter?
It's a Lip, it does not perform the task of 'splitting airflow' like a true Splitter.

This car has a splitter:

+1.. Lip.

And IMHO the one with no holes looks better.

Whats the ride height of the car its going on like?

Thank you guys very much for the input on installation.

But if I were to look for the Renault Laguna lip spoiler, which year model should I be looking at?

Your best bet is to visit a car breakers yard and have a look.

The Mazda 929 lip also fits I think.

yep my old car but my current garage

splitter :P  cost me a fiver from the breakers and i have always just screwed them on (ok wind redirecting unit)

my old one pictured without the holes is a bit harder to find

also they are just stapled to the renaults and can be pulled off (but only from cars in the breakers yards

Just to make it clear to those who might have been in doubt, this is what a real Splitter actually looks like, and its function should be abundantly clear from the photograph:

I do believe it's a custom racing component, so you would have to have one made for the 190.
That said, a member successfully fitted an E46 M3 Splitter to his 190E 2.5-16, but it didn't have a large integral undertray.

i don't think the undertray is necessary for our cars. there's already a low coefficient of drag on the underside. the main goal would be to divert air up to wherever the intake is

I quite like that, a natural extension for an AMG Gen-II front apron?
