Also, if you buy them from ECP or whoever, be aware that the mounts for AC-equipped cars are different...

definitely buy OE parts, just go through a dealer, good mounts are essential for smooth handling and a comfortable drive, the gel and oil in non OE parts breaks down quicker than OE mounts as it is of a poorer quality
this is usually why you can find them for cheaper, but if you intend to keep the car then I would advise you take the hit!

ebay.de chris ,
type in " Motorlager w201 " and look for febi logo in picture .

whereas " Motorlager w201 febi " will give only 3 results.

some vendors refer to a blue quality ,do you know what that refernce is?

Spoken to a gentleman called Vel in SN Autohaus, nice guy.

some of the mounts are actually genuine or genuine O.E (i.e Febi) or german manufacturers

i was delighted to hear he does not sell parts in non-descript white boxes ,

and concentrates largely on OE or german manufacturer, and recognises that most mercedes owners want OE.

so definetly worth giving a shout on any part.

he stated that ideally , if you can supply the mercedes part number for the part you are looking for,
to avoid any confusion.

sn_autohaus is his ebay i.d

email 'ebay@snautospares.co.uk'

Hope this helps,
Regs Dan

UPDATE the mounts Vel has in stock for most 2.6's p/no. 124 240 1717 is a brand called Lemforder,
is it a good brand (part of Boge Group) ?
i need to order some either genuine /febi or try this brand,
any feedback much apprecaitted.

I'm only really here for the Kitchens

I have had lemforder parts before (supplied by eurocarparts), I cant remember what exactly but I didnt have any problems with them, it wouldnt have been electrics, or mounts. Possibly trackrods or something.
