The boot lid on my 190 is not fitting correctly. It is above the rear wing at one side and level the other. Is there any adjustment to the hinges on the underside of the rear shelf area, or will I have to get a bodywork specialist to do it . |

Yes you can adjust how it sits by turning in or out the black plastic wedge things on the bottom lip (under the badge(s) on the left and right. Alternatively you can undo the screws that hold it on, 4 in total, and wiggle until it's right. Not that easy. |

Thanks Guys for replying to my query. Tried your suggestion but not seeming to work. Its the top right hand corner by the rear window that is proud of the wing. Juggled it about a bit but got fed up, have to put it in and have it done. Once again thanks fellas. |

Any luck? I think my car does this too - almost as if the boot lid is held up too high by the rubbers or the springs or something. |

I think it might have been caused by something beeing under there when you've closed it at sometime and it is just a bit twisted, it happened to mine, you just have to have it wide open and pushing against the middle while pulling the corner that is high, that's what a German dealer did to mine and it fixed it. |

The hinge mounts for the boot lid are under the rear shelf which lots of owners seem to mod very crudely to get bigger speakers in the car. you may be able to adjust the bootlid from the hinge rather than fiddling with the bootlid. this requires removal of the rear seat and then the shelf to gain access to the bolts on the hinge. Hope this sorts you out. TeZ |
