manual sunroof not tilting?

So i thought my sunroof was tilting and sliding, until i saw it from outside the car and it appears to just lower itself slightly to allow it to slide backward into the roof recess.
Is this right for a 1992 model or should it be tilting at well? Ive read there are a few variations on the sunroof mechanism.

Thanks

Looks like you've found it - but yes, on a manual sunroof there is no tilt, only slide.
