got a new cat fitted (well if you can called it fitted...) first there was really bad knocking aas soona s you turned the key.. took it back... after 5 mins of arguing got him to sit in teh car and listen... fixed that. he then tried leaving the cat hanging about 4 cm from the floor, asked him if he would replace it when it gets ripped off when i go over the speedbumps into work.. fixed that then drove home, vibrating from cat at 2-4k .. took it back.. they threw a hissy and insisted it was my rear tail pipes hitting my rear bumper (its not / wasnt) tried leaving my with a wonky set of tail pipes hanging on the floor after cursing my car saying they wish they never took the job (fuxckin do it properly then!), told them to sort that drove back to work.. still vibrating, and really cant be assed with their hissy fits every time i take it back any ideas why its vibrating so much (deff is the cat/front pipes) .. its raspy (a given) but sounds like thin metal vibrating together between 2-4 k revs.. should i take it back / take them for a ride to show them or any ideas how to fix myself? car use to sound lush.. sounds like a bag of nails now :/ Edited by CrysAk, Wed Mar 18, 2009 11:57 am.

Just take it back, not your problem to identify the noise. Cheers Bri |

I've got this exact problem, I think the cat has broken free within the exhaust and rattles like mad when cold. Once it's warmed up all is fine! |

Heatshields may have been loosened. They rattle like hell sometimes on my LE. Keep trying to sort them but they always seem to come loose again. |
