I don't personally remember that, but the genuine bonnet pads are only £49.

Don't know how good, but spotted this on the net the other day as I could do with a new pad myself. They perish and crumble after so long and looks like brown sugar on top of your engine and bonce! lol

I'm only really here for the Kitchens

or the w124 pads are slightly more.

I remember the thread, it was a heatproof sheet I think bought by the meter. If I remember correctly the thread drifted off to discuss if the sheeting served other purposes ie soundproofing. It was before I did mine so about a year ago. I tried a search but couldnt find it. Its all a bit vague though :)

The real thing is better, always. ;)

I agree with Michael that it's better to buy the real thing, especially if you can hunt out the genuine article at a resonable price. That's the way I'm gonna go. Murgy, let us know if you uncover any deals. lol

Seems so on the site.

I just dug out my invoice. The one I have is A1246800025, it was £60 delivered including our discount. Perhaps give the guy a call or email and find out the difference, he has always been eager to help out. Even when he knew I wasnt buying from him.

Perhaps the two i have found aren't the full covers, just the rear of bonnet covers.

That part number (A1246820726) has been replaced by the one that Kenny bought (A1246800025)

And I think that the (A2016820326) is only the half type.

guys, there were several part numbers for the underbonnet pad. early models had them only covering the areas 'beyond' the firewall on either side. there were differnet part numbers for 2.3, 2.6 and 16v as well
