the inserts can be taken out i've done it. They are just clipped in so you have to take the bumper off and use a flatheaded screwdriver to press them out from behind. Might take two people as when i did it the insert kept popping back into place. So you need someone to hold it out slightly while you work your way round. Dont think there are any bolts holding it in either. Someone else will have to answer your second question. Edited by Downside190, Fri Apr 3, 2009 10:04 am.

Another Q on these; Has anybody ever bought replacement inserts from ECP or GSF, and if so, what's the quality like? |

I bought a replacement insert for my back bumper from ECP and the quality seemed to pretty much the same as the original. But then i had a non standard bumper so don't know if it counts. It wasn't flimsy and didn't look poor quality or nothing |

On a facelift insert, in addition to the plastic clips that run top and bottom along the full length (and can be awkward to remove) there are 3 x small self-tapping screws on each side - at the extreme edges of the insert. Undo those first - if they're not rusted up - before trying to prise the clips out. You may wish to apply copious quantities of WD40 to the screws and leave to soak before you try to remove them. Hope this helps. |

I bought a front insert from performance Products in America. it was a perfect fit. the clips are very secure so be careful not to snap them. |
