Bonnet struts, how does your bonnet sit when up

yeah you raise it until the clip on the arm
then lift the arm away from the strut to drop it again

then in full lift mode you press the second arm to remove it from the full upright position
Steve, I'm not 100% certain what you mean.
All I know is that to do it as Mercedes-Benz intended;

No interfering with clips, and from the 'halfway' position the bonnet simply pushes down to close.
Mine's still on the original strut, and feels like new - firm but compliant.
Wow your engine bay looks good, it puts mine to shame. I have always detailed my engine bays, but have not got round to it yet with the 190E. I must get on with it.

Is it wrong if I dont press the pink button before I close it? I always just put it down and it flicks by itself!

Your meant to have to press the pink bit, but once forced it gets easier and easier to not need it. I would say always press it as you want to at least have some protection against the bonnet falling on you from full height.
