Right how the hell do you get the bonnet to sit at the 90 degree angle? :$

Tbh this should be pinned or in the buyers guide.

You need to press the little buttons in on the hinges, I think they have a pink/red dot on them.

There is only one on the right strut. Pushed down on the button and lifted the bonnet.....................................nothing.

Not on the strut, right by the hinges.

I'll see if I can find a pic.

One sec..

There should be one on each side, I think you'll need to push the driver's side one in first. Might look different on the other side, but you need to push a button or pull something.

I think that the red button lever on the N/S hinge is self locking as you pull up the hood,
and when you want to lower it you press the button to release lock mechanism.

on my car it works like that. I don't know if there are variations of the hinges design though.

Fantastic. It was the clip on the strut that was stopping it.

While your here, why is my battery tray wider (by about 4cm) than my battery (correct one from MB)?

Probably because the battery tray is a generic part, designed to accomodate a range of batteries.

I'm only really here for the Kitchens

will, it sounds like your confusing it with the w124 ?

The w124 has 2 metal buttons, on on each hinge. To raise up you need to press both, one after another, then one to bring it back down.

On the w201 you press the metal wire clip half way up the strut and then to lower it you press the almandine, I mean pink coloured button by the right hinge.
