just phoned merc for the part and there is not one in the UK. Ordering from Germany may mean I cannot get my retest done in the 10 working day window for free which is a pain.

is there anywhere else that may stock this part which will be exactly right for the 2.5-16v? inchcape, GSF/ECP???

If it helps, I know MB Brooklands have stock of the 2.3-16 item. I reckon it might just about fit (or could be mildly persuaded to). Use that for a week or two (to get your MOT sorted etc) and then swap it over when the correct one turns up?

They're only about £2 so it wouldn't be an expensive excercise. Or if you're really desperate, bend a length of studding as a temporary fix?

I'd be very surprised if GSF or ECP would have one.

Looks like I had the last one in the UK then.. :$

Sorted. Got the W or B shaped clamp from MB using the number Will put up (thanks again!) and fitted easily this evenning. Just a quick note to say the number Will list is ONLY the bracket and not any of the nuts or washers you will probably need if your clamp is missing like mine was. Luckily I still had the repair kit including the incorrect U clamp which allowed me to attach the clamp in the correct way with the correct fixings and replace the rubbers and fixings attaching the bracket to the chassis to make it good as new.

There may be a repair kit that includes the correct clamp for the 2.5-16v but just something to bear in mind if you are following this thread to do this job yourself.

Thanks all for the help on this. MOT re-test tomorrow - fingers crossed!

I got my clamp. It goes without saynig, though, that the old clamp's nuts had rusted and they spin on the thread without coming off.

Bo**ocks.

IIRC they're copper nuts (?), something like that - similar to the ones used on the exhaust studs.

Anyway, shouldn't be hard to obtain, from MB or elsewhere - certainly not a 2.5-16 specific part so you'd be able to pick them up from somewhere easily I'd think ;)

FWIW, mine came off fine, but I replaced them with new ones anyway

Would this be the same braket and repair kit as a 190d 2.5? Thanks Ryan.

I bought one of these new brackets during the transmission swap but I decided not to use it as it was only hitting things on the ground as the car is so low, you could see the old one was well scraped! It wasn't actually supporting my exhaust anyway - so now I have a few mm extra precious ground clearance :)

the part I have 2014925241 for a Getrag so probably no use to you..
Hi Dave, do you still have the above including all the clamp, bolts, bushes, washers etc? How much do you want for them? Can you courier to Malaysia? Cheers.
