Noticed a small leak inside the cabin when driving last night. Water is being forced in through front screen seal half way up on drivers side. Seal can be lifted off screen easilly. Is it just a matter of cleaning and putting a bead of silicone under the length of the seal or more involved. |

Do you have windscreen cover on your insurance ? If you screen were to be.........er, mysteriously damaged ...... perhaps by some unknown vandals.....then you could get it sorted for nothing, |

if it is the original windscreen ,fitted by mercedes.................it can be re-sealed .if you remove the bottom trim of the windscreen, right above the battery you will see 2 exposed wires![]() connect them to a 12v supply, let it heat up..............then when heated up ,apply a little pressure to the side thats leaking, disconnect it,keep the pressure on as it cools down.............and that should re-seal it ![]() ![]() |

Unfortunately no wires. Looks like the original seal must have been replaced at some stage. Any other ideas gratefully received |

A closer inspecton of the windscreen shows delamination starting bottom passenger side and rising. Guess it is a new screen then on the insurance just to be on the safe side. |

I jammed as much geocell in there (I think thats the name), its a silicone gell for sealing fishtanks. Very flexible and easy to get into small spaces. And clear. Much better than normal silicone sealant although its a bit more expensive. |

I think that it's held in place with 3 screws per side of the wind screen. |
