Trolley Jack; Where to place?

Can anyone tell me where to place a trolley jack under front & rear?

Under the rear, the diff is fine and i usually use the gearbox x-member but you can prob use the beam which runs under the engine. Use a rag or piece of wood on top of the jack to preserve the underside and re-apply and coating which get scratched or chipped.

i just use the rubber jacking points is this wrong?? but for the whole back i would have used the sump or just each side depends which trolley jack im using the one with the long or short arm

The rubber jacking points are the correct place to put the trolley jack, I use the diff as a lifting point only when I need to use axle stands, and I use a thick wad of cloths on the trolley jack head.

Tell me you mean diff and not sump? NEVER jack the car up by the sump! :o

diff thats the one have used the sump before but that was when it had a hole in it lol and it was getting removed shortly

i cant get my trolley jack underneath the diff, have to use the wheel change jack to put it on axle stands, pain in the @rse

I just run up onto 2 pieces of wood, the same 2 pieces i have to take to the mot station to get it on the ramp, then the jack goes under.

no idea, but im on 205/55/15's so it'll be lower than the 17" rim boys
