mine is a little bit faded and a brand new one would look brilliant. How much do MB charge for these things and what is the part no.?

Alternatively you could do what I did and get kit number A2018800183 - £15.73 but you get the badge, washer, nut, lower screw and all other grille mounting hardware.

the kit costs more than the individual bits though...??

how is the badge secured and why cant you use the old fixings? I thought the badge was stuck/glued on.

The badge is made from very soft aluminium with a steel nut, galvanic reaction seems to weld the two together and they almost always snap.

you're right, i've just priced it all up individually - £11.65!

On mine there is a fixed screw on the back of the badge and it goes through the grill surround and then you put a washer and nut on and tighten up,and you can also use it if you retro fit electric widows to cover the holes left by the winders, saves buying new door boards.

I'm only really here for the Kitchens

these badges are incredibly soft, careful you dont break the new one by doing it up too tight. I have, twice !!

I got mine from eurocarparts I think it was about a fiver or so.

The ideal way to stop a repeat would be to use a nylon nut and washer....and a dab of silicon grease, not copper.
