I have a G-reg White 190E (very light grey below waist level) but the door handles, grille and bumper trim are dark grey. Does anyone know if this the original colour or were they originally black? |

as far as i know the door handles, bumper strips, ect should be black,so im guessing their faded.try a black trim restorer and they should shine up. |

All the handles and the grille were originally a very dark grey. They do fade over the years but a little autoglym bumper care brings them back to their correct colour. It is possible to use a plastic paint if you really want them black. The sacco panels (trim on the doors) are normally grey on white cars although I think white was an option! They should be black, but they do fade. A colleague recommends Autoglym bumper/black trim polish. Says it brought his greying doof handles up a treat. |

All grills were grey but some cars seem to have come with dark grey hadels and roof trims etc while other were definatly black from new. |

We need to get this sorted once and for all - sooo many 16vs I see have Grey Door Handles and Wiper Arms, usually with Bronze Roof & Window Trim. Most post-facelift 2.0s and 1.8s I see have Black Door Handles and Wiper Arms and Black Roof Trim OR Grey Door Handles and Wiper Arms with Bronze Roof & Window Trim. I thought that they were the only 2 combos, tbh. Has ANYBODY got Bronze Roof/Window trim with BLACK Door Handles & Wiper Arms? |

My pre, 2.6 has grey everything and so has my 16v. My old post face lift signal red definitely had almost black handles but,,,,,it had bronze roof trim and window surrounds!!! This just gets more and more confusing I wonder if you could tick a box for what trim you wanted when you ordred the cars new? |

right to put the handles to bed ive got a full set today from MB and they are very dark grey and smooth, so as they get older not only do they fade but also the smooth surface wears away and becomes porus macking things worse. |

Nick, please take a good sharp picture of them. Do they look anything like this, with the two thin textured stripes on? ![]()
