Quote for painting the bootlid and spoiler

I got a quote the other day to paint a bootlid (just the outside) and a AMG spoiler (the one like the valver one) for my car. I want to keep the original so I can swap them around. The guy is local and does jobs to a very high standard, he had a few Rolla's, Bentley's and an Alpina 635CSI. The thing is he said it will cost at least £500 to do, seems very extortionate to me when you can have a full paint resto at £3000/3500.

What do you guys think?

sounds like he can afford to charge more with his usual customers but then again if he does a good job you sometimes pay for what you get

Tis a bit on the pricey side mate.

Usually, rule of thumb is £300 per panel for paint.

My local place said £200-300 for a bootlid with ducktail.
