bonnet lifting one side at high speed - 16v

at motorway speeds my bonnet seems to lift on the passenger side. There is the risk that it might make the bonnet lift up suddenly, spoils the air flow over the car and jsut doesnt look good.

I have shortened the stops and it doesnt make a difference the only thing that i think can cause it is the alarm bonnet pin half way along or the bonnet being bent.

is the bonnet alarm pin standard on all models or part of a 3rd party alarm? if it is 3rd party then it is probably at the wrong height.

Is it likely to be a bent bonnet? it looks fairly straight to me.

It is probably just one of these two simple problems but i was wondering if anyone else has similar problems and it is a common thing on these cars.

I have never seen or heard of that happening before. The alarm pin is definitely after market as they didn't leave the factory with any kind of alarm fitted. Lots of them had Scorpion alarms fitted at the dealers though.

Is it a replacement bonnet? The 16v bonnets had extra bracing to strengthen them.

Stu, mine came with factory anti theft device, the pin is on the drivers side, near the bulkhead.

sorry to not be clear but it is not lifting completely. that would be sketchy!

it is just wobbling/vibrating alot on passenger side at high speed/turbulence.

i never noticed it until someone sitting in the passenger seat pointed it out.

it is just a worry as maybe it will fully lift one day and just doesnt look good...........

Yeah, that is exactly what I meant, if it isn't closed properly it can lift on one side, when it does it vibrates quite quickly,
