clean up your bulb "caps"

I was doing a job on the lights today, and when I had them apart I saw how manky the headlight "caps" where, they were all flaky and dusty and greyed out..

So, a quick sand, and a few coats of 650oC matt black stove paint,

(handy if you also own a stove which you are modding or something lol)

and they look better than new. The one for the main H4s just popped out if you gently press the two legs together, on the H3 hat, there are small little metal tabs which you can bend with a small flat head screwdriver, and it just comes out. Bend the tabs back when replacing, job done.

And while your in there clean the reflectors and inside of lens too. You will be suprised the difference it makes to Your lights. Mine went from poor in the rain to more than adaquate.

Yep i put my lenses in the dishwasher with a powerball ;) blingin'

I might try this mod myself :)

VW and Maybach now have their logo on the li'l Cap inside the headlamps... B)
