Where would i get headlamp wiper blades from? The 2.6 I've been looking at has had them nicked!

Are they easy to replace?

Cheers

About £4 each at a dealer. Fittings takes about 2.5 seconds - just hinge them off, push the new ones in and hinge them back

They're the kind of part that carries a 25% discount for regular trade buyers like myself. It's always worth cultivating your local MB parts man, particularly if he's a bit older and knows 190s & W124s

I got mine from a scrapyard - volvos opels and saabs are a good source, I think they're the same size...

For replacement rubber I used to cut down used windscreen wiper rubbers...

Here's one for the masterclass.

Anyone know how to take apart the headlamp wiper arms on the 190.

On mine the washer nozzles (thin black plastic cylinder about 2 inches long) are both cracked so that the water doesn't spray onto headlamp but just dribbles onto the bumper. ((I know my car is old but it definitely doesn't have prostate problems)).

Bought replacement nozzles from MB for just over £2 each, left and right are different prices!.

Removed arms from car. Need to remove rivet/pin that holds whole arm together to replace nozzle.

So far have wrecked both arms plus bought two more from a breaker and when they arrived nozzles were again broken.

Can't drive out pin; grinding one end off first also doesn't work.

Mechanics at my local MB have no answer, other than to suggest replacement, which at about £50 each!! is definitely a last resort.

There has to be a fix, otherwise they wouldn't list the nozzles as a seperate part. Knowing Mercedes there is probably a very simple but clever solution, but I can't find it.

As a temporary fix, remove the cracked nozzle from the arm. With a soldering iron melt the plastic sufficiently to weld the crack. For additional strength, cut a short piece of a sewing pin to length, push this into the soft plastic that you've just melted (use a pair of thin pliers to hold the pin), let it cool down and replace the nozzle. Be careful not to burn your fingers Worked for me!

From memory, the nozzle simply clips into the arm, so there should be no need to grind the pin out. Try it on the arms you got from the breakers.
