I think I might need a new aerial for my car to cure a problem with the sound system. The aerial is automatic (when the sound system turns on, the ariel rises out of the rear wing) If I was to order from GSF car parts, is it M89250 AERIAL-AUTOMATIC General Use. All Models (HIRSCHMAN FITMENT) or is there a better solution to replace it with? Many thanks. Matt. |

Basically the sound system won't turn on, the screen on the Panasonic CD player just keeps flashing but never boots up. It did this before, but then one day, suddenly, I saw it turn on and heard the arieal motor mechanism engaging (I think) The ariel didn't rise, but every time the CD player worked I would hear what sounded like the motor mechanism engaging/turning on. Now I don't hear it engaging, and the CD player screen keeps flashing. The earth connection near the ariel looks O.K by the way, and the fuse for the system is OK (I replaced it) One last thing, one of the rear speakers sounds a bit distorted when playing some tracks, but still plays O.K, oh and when the system was working, if I put the volume up really high then the system would cut out. Many thanks, Matt. |

you should be able to play a cd in the unit even if you didnt have a aerial, the aerial is only to pick up signals for the radio side of things, also some units have a screwed stud on the back to connect a earth lead from the unit to the body of the car, it sounds more like the unit to me but anyway you can pick up another aerial for under twenty quid. |

How do you get the bastard head unit out of it's cage? I tried pushing it from behind, but it didn't want to budge Do I have to use a lot of force? |

Should be small slots/holes on front edges into which you insert keys (wire or wooden bbq skewers often work. They disengage the locking tabs. Then pull out. |

After I managed to snap my aerial I replaced it with a flexible one, I think telescopic aerials are just trouble! |
