Hi guys, I know these are from the 2007 W203 Sport model, and i think they are actually staggared front to back, not just thedifference in the dish. I've seen them on quite a few W203 estates for some reason, more so than on the Saloon. I think Wiggz has them on his car and would love to see a proper pic. So, if anybody knows the OEM Name for them, diemsions, ET, and what sizes they were available in and weights etc, that would be hugely helpful. ![]() Thanks guys, Mart

Info From the MB Light Alloy Wheel catalogue October 2008. Prices from http://www.mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk HOEDUS 6-spoke wheel 17x7.5J ET36 - B66474319 in Sterling Silver Finish £228 / B66474413 in Titanium Silver finish £219 17x8.5J ET34 - B66474320 in Sterling Silver Finish £190 / B66474415 in Titanium Silver finish £225 Not really sure how your rear arches would handle the 17x8.5s, I'd be tempted to go 17x7.5 all round and see if you can go 225 on the rear tyres for a little extra grip. Weight unknown. Edited by NEIL, Mon Jul 20, 2009 8:25 am.

^Staggered too! Those dished rears do look awesome, I just think the silver needs toning down a bit as the standard finish is typical Daimler-Chrysler 'bling'. Would look hard as nails in Satin Grey or Black, on a Red 16v ![]() Edited by NEIL, Mon Jul 20, 2009 9:32 am.

I agree, gunmetal or anthracite grey would be the colour i was thinking about. ![]() Arches wont be a problem as they are being "dealt with". ![]() To be honest no i have seen it side on i am not so sure, but i was wondering if they were in the light-alloy range from MB and needed some weights too really. Maybe a set of the 8.5j dished rears all round? ![]() I am leaning more towards some six spoke dorifto style wheels now rather than the 5 spoke MOs i was after before. But could change again before i buy them. |

MB's description of 'Light Alloy' is a very loose one, it just means wheels that aren't Steel. 8.5J all round if it's a show-car, but definitely go 7.5J up front if you're actually wanting it to steer and handle decently. |

It's anything but a show car, I think i am changing tack and going for a fully stripped race car now basically. I'm just hunting for a carbon undertray at the moment from an old F2000 car or similar that i can modify. lol This could be getting too silly.

@ Carbon UndertraySeriously though, if you're going down that road I'd stay away from expensive styling toss like those Hoedus rims above, then! At least Evo-IIs are Forged, and manufactured by Speedline - proper kit. Narrows up front, wides out back if you like. Take a tip from Lotus, and take a close look at the size differences between the front & rear wheels on a current Elise or Exige. I know they even decrease the front rim diameter by an inch for steering feel, but they are narrower too for sharper turn-in. It all counts, and a track car that tramlines is no fun AT ALL... |

Ah, i know what you mean but but that is set up specifically for the short wheelbase of an Elise. In the famous first words of Sabine Schmitz when Carl and I interviewed her for PPC, "Yeah the F360 is ok, but the front wheels are too small, (also an inch smaller than the rears) and it just understeers because of it". lol I'm not going for expensive styling, i would pay much for them but they seem to come up fairly regularly and cheap! Styling is right at the bottom of the list mate. By the way, if you are interested and have some time to kill.....6 x 45 min episodes about Tim Schrick (One of Sabines mates from the German equivilent of Top Gear) preparing an Aston Martin GT3 for the 24hrs of the Nurburgring, it does have English Subtitles but it's really interesting!!! Episode 1 Episode 2 Episode 3 Episode 4 Episode 5 Episode 6 I meant to post this last week because i thought you might be interested. Why don't people make programms like this in the UK???? |

Well, you've already seen the pics of my 2.5-16 with those wheels. I'm running 215/45 R17 on the front wheels and 225/45 R17 on the back wheels. No rubbing at all! Works great. I think they look great on any 190, especially if it's lowered which mine isn't yet, but it will be ![]() The difference in dish is stunning

Thanks for the picture Figgz, do you have any ideas on how much they weigh? And sorry to ask more questions but is the offset actually different front to rear, and are the width of the wheels different? (if so, what are they?) or have you just wrapped them in different width tyres? Personally, whenever i have been running 7.5 inch wide wheels i have always used 215/40 R17s. Found the 45s gave a little rubbing and more sidewall flex. |

Sorry but I didn't weigh them before putting on the tires Both the offset and width are different. In the front they are 7½" wide with an offset of 36 I belive, but in the back the wheels are 8½" wide and the offset is 34 iirc. This is why I wrapped them in different tires, which also looks good when the rims have different widths. Of course you can run 215/40 aswell but I wanted to match the sizes of the tires as good as possible, hence the 45's. I would actually like to see 8½'s all the way around but then you have to modify the front wings

Modifying the front arches is not a problem, i'll need to do a fair bit of track testing when the engine is finished, so i'm sure i'll get round to trying 8.5s all round at some stage. I understand what you mean about the different profiles, sounds like a good plan. The thing i like about the 7.5s all round at the moment, is that even with the 2.0ltr carb engine, the back end was very stable, turn in was very good with very little understeer, which very progressivley turned to oversteer. (Much prefer oversteer for my driving style). I am quite tempted by these still, we'll just have to wait and see.
