Hi , does anyone know if its feasible (or easy anough !) to put an old 2.3 ltr Eclass engine into my 1.8 ltr 190E . Its just an idea of mine that won't go away .................. ![]() |

There was a model exactly like this sold in S Africa , Japan & Australia . ( in fact I saw one yesterday) , and member aemt has one too . So the answer is yes . Jeremy

The 1.8 litre engine in your 190 is known as the 8v M102, there is also a 2.0 litre and 2.3 litre 8v M102 engine which Mercedes used in the 190's and in the old E class generation of cars known as the W124....the M102 engines were even used in the W123 series of E classes. It would make a difference, i had been umming and arrrhhhing about it for years, but ended up going with the Cossie engine instead. Incidentally, the 2.3 8v with it's great big fat valves is perfect for a custom turbo project. That's what i was thinking of.

Make sure you also get the ECU and all the other associated bits and pieces. |
