To those that have succeeded in doing this can i ask, exactly which fuel injectors to use ?
Lots of talk of Saab Red tops but which Bosch part number are these? The ones ending ...431 Even before i get as far as ripping my car apart i want to make up brackets for fuel rail etc and need at least one injector to measure sizes and distances involved in mounting.
Regards
keith

Thats all very well if the fuel rail came with injectors. Some Bosch injector shapes will obviously fit straight into the inlet port without any fabrication work and some wont and would need adaptors.I dont intend to use injectors that need adaptors making as it extra work not essential when there are suitable one if i can identify them.Did the ford parts for instance just drop in snug Robert?.

on my 16v manifold the injectors went in too far and went too loose as they went past the o ring

I believe it to be the same with the 2.6. AFAIK, the 8v is the only one that standard injectors will fit with no adapters.

By "standard" injectors do we mean EV1, EV6 or something else. It certainly looks as though an EV1 will sit in nicely and as soon as i can find an old one i will know for sure.

Sorry, should have been more specific. The injectors that came with my Saab rail are EV1.

I'm half-way through my conversion, more or less. I'll cross-post my final results (here and 190rev), including a detailed write-up, when it's done.

tjst1 on 190rev posted some good close-up pics a month or so ago of EV6 (IIRC) injectors sitting nicely in his 8v manifold.
