Hi guys, I fitted a K & N Air Filter (the type that goes into the existing housing) into my car and noticed a slightly sportier sound and also noticed a slight boost in power...it worked out alright! Anyone have any other ideas how to make a 2.0 190E more sporty sound/performance-wise without breaking the bank?! Cheers Jason |

You could get a new back box which will probably give you what you're looking for and won't break the bank. |

I've always thought the cast-iron manifolds looks nice and restrictive, did any manufacturer ever produce a fabricated version that's a bit more free-flowing? |

Stainless exhaust will make it sound sportier but without a decat and some freeflowing headers its debatable wether and power gains can be had. The last 2/3ds of an exhaust system is purely for noise and routing of the gas so I'm led to believe. |

Hi you can buy them from Germany but they cost around 800 euros, they were made by a supplier called "Tezet" Mazza |

Did a monkey weld it? Lol. The one i'll be making will use stainless secondaries with the lambda sensor in the original position. With or wishout sports catalyst. |

The manifold is definitely the key part, but the rest of the exhaust system still has it's part to play. It's mostly resonator design and diameter, but variances between designs that share similar diamaters and resonators are mostly splitting hairs. That just defines the kind of sound it makes. |

How much extra bhp do you reckon an 8v will gain from one of these manifolds Richy? |

No idea mate, if there is enough intrest i'll jig up and put mine on the dyno you should notice the difference though, my 1500 VVT suzuki engine gained just over 20bhp by tuning the lengths and removing the strangling oem header.

Hi, Basically im working on tubular manifolds for the 1.2/2.0 M102 engine, in conjunction with a very good friend of mine who I work with. has many years experience of these things (www.sdwlightfabrications.co.uk) and once the patterns are ready, the jigs made and we know how much material and labour is required we will be announcing prices. obviously there may be demand for 2.6 M103's as well in the future but as I dont currently have one to jig from its on the back burner. I wont be keeping quiet about it ![]() Rich. |

I believe that Rich is doing a RHD version. On the other side how difficult would be to build one form pre-cut tubes? Has anybody tried that? Edited by alogaparaloga, Thu Aug 20, 2009 2:49 pm.

I have a brand new "fast road" camshaft for sale, made by Newman-Cams.com/, higher lift and more duration so would give a nice boost but still mild enough to use in a normal engine, €150 +p&p if you are interested. |
