need pointers swaping a 2.3 8v with a 2.3-16v

im swaping out my 8v motor for my 16v motor.. i have the doner car but am stuck a little bit on the wireing harness.. does the intire wireing harness have to come out or does only half have to come out?? seems like the harness is connected to everything such as horn lights and everythign in my dash.. i have never seen a engine harness done like this.. so was jsut wondering is there a easyer way or mabe a step im missing or i have no choise??

also has anyone done this swap??

If you're not going to go aftermarket (Which is pretty much up to you as nothing is really available "off-the-shelf") in terms of ignition or fuelling then the whole lot has to go over, basically re-wire the whole car as far as i could tell.

I am going the aftermarket route with a 2.5-16v swap so can't help much - none of the loom is going to be swapped over - the very expensive route as i am finding out!

Moomycossys' thread is a the one to look at. Read that in depth and then as more questions to fill in the gaps is my advice. ;)
