Was wondering if there is any difference between the 2.3 190e and the 2.3-16v 190e suspension wise? i need want a lowering kit for my 2.3-16 with SLS but the websites all show the kit fits the 2.3 and does not specify the 2.3-16, so i was wondering if there was any difference? The kit i want is here: http://www.toys4cars.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=47406 Please help lol |

^In that listing above, the 190E 2.3/2.5 refers to the 16v models, for the following reasons; - It's a UK supplier - the 2.3 8-valve was never available in the UK - the only 2.5-litre petrol engine (190E) was a 16-valve So that kit is for your car. You'll need to abandon the SLS system to utilise the rear shocks though. Not sure on springs. Good price. Check that they definitely hold physical stock before ordering though, folk seem to have quite rotten luck with suppliers of the more obscure setups for these cars. |

The springs will also need changing when ditching the SLS. The springs for the SLS system are softer than normal set ups. |

You want to "improve the handling" so you're buying a kit from "Toys 4 Cars" to replace the original Mercedes parts? Parts tested exhaustively by Mercedes engineers in all conditions and all loads? Forgive my cynicism but I think you're barking up the wrong tree Nick Froome |

I have to say, i agree with Nick here. The original SLS system is truly a superb feature of the 16v cars. Since i replaced all the SLS components and got it working just as it should, i can truthfully say that i have never driven a car that handles so well. And i have owned and driven many so called good handling cars. The car is simply so controllable. The SLS combined with the ASD diff gives so much traction through fast corners its unbelievable. But it also allows so much control when you do lose traction that you can basically steer the car with the rear with no fear that your ever going to stuff it into a tree. These cars are perfect as they are in my eyes and taking away the SLS would ruin the whole concept and upset the balance of a perfectly set up car in the first place in my view. But each to there own
