As some of you know, I had a bit of a problem with my gearbox blowing a pipe. I have now refitted the pipe concerned, and now comes the time to refill the gearbox with ATF. Is there a particular way to do it? Anything that I should or shouldn't do? Any help most graciously accepted. Phil BTW.....car not started for 3 months...started first turn of the key!!

The number one rule appears to be 'Do Not Overfill'. Closely followed by 'Replace the Filter at the same time'. I hope somebody will be along soon to walk you through the process step by step. |

You fill via the dipstick hole, start with 4 litres (if empty of course) then fire it up and cycle it through the gears before adding more fluid. You may need a small funnel. (tesco do a perfect one as a 3 pack for 99p, you may have to hold the funnel off the neck slightly to prevent an airlock. |
